About Us

Over the years, The Mafia has evolved from an Ultima Online guild into an online gaming community.  Our members have participated in various MMO’s and competitive games including Counter Strike, Shadowbane, Dark Ages of Camelot, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Pirates of the Burning Sea, and Warhammer.  What once started off as a small circle of friends in California has now developed into a large tight knit gaming community that reaches across the entire globe.  Our relationships with our fellow members aren’t limited to just gaming with one another.  The Mafia has hosted various meets and events across the country including trips to Las Vegas, Disneyland, and San Diego.   Although all of us take our gaming seriously, TM recognizes that its the people and the relationships formed outside of the game and not just our accomplishments and feats in game that define who we are.

Although The Mafia has grown quite considerably, we strive to maintain the small guild feel.  All members are encouraged to get to know each and every other member.  TM members take pride in participating in all guild events whenever they are logged in. Our members believe it to be their duty assist one another whenever the situation beckons for teamwork.  We strive for guild solidarity.  Our activities are not only limited to whatever is the current flavor of the month MMO, as our members often participate in the social events held every few months.  Socializing is probably the most important aspect of the application phase for anyone wishing to become part of The Mafia family.  Those who prefer to play by themselves or refrain from participating with their fellow guild members are quickly removed. If you’re applying to our organization simply for sake of being able to get “phat loots” or “e-fame”; don’t bother.  We have removed members in the past who have desired to participate with others outside the community over their own members.  We encourage our members to have their real life friends and family apply in order to avoid any problems.  If you have friends with whom you’ll be hanging out with more often than your own prospective guild members, then please don’t waste y(our) time by applying.

Mafia’s success stems from collaborative effort and the individual sacrifices of all of its members.  Skill can be taught, attitude and temperment cannot.  Those who wish to join must demonstrate their abilities to accept constructive criticism and apply it to make themselves better.  We don’t care if you are the best thing since sliced bread if your attitude is piss poor.  Inexperienced players with great attitudes make better guildmembers and friends than those with poor attitudes who think they know better.
